Advantage Rugby CLUB

WINTER 2017 PROGRAM - aurora, ON

Advantage Rugby is pleased to announce our winter training schedule for winter 2017. This is the third year of the Advantage Rugby program and the number of participants has grown every year.

Director of Rugby Development, Sandy Townsend, said, “We are pleased to be back at the Aurora Dome offering the program for another winter. We have a great relationship with the Aurora Barbarians, but our program is open to kids from other clubs or even players that only play for their high school. We work on skill development in an environment where the players have the time to practice and develop without the pressure of winning the next game.”

The sessions will be held twice a week in the Aurora Dome, 145 Industrial Parkway North, in Aurora, beginning on Tuesday January 10th from 4:30 – 6:00pm. The second session will be held on Thursday January 12th again from 4:30 – 6:00pm. Sessions will run every Tuesday – Thursday until Thursday March 9th.

The Advantage Rugby program has a proven method that provides youth rugby players with a competitive advantage over their competition by taking a professional approach to training. Last year alone, the program helped eight boys and four girls play representative rugby for regional, provincial or national teams.

In conjunction with the Rugby Skills and Fitness, every Advantage session will provide a dynamic warm-up catered to rugby movements that not only warm up the body, but activate the neuromuscular system to prime it for physical activity. This will help the athletes to focus on proper footwork, biomechanics, speed and power.
